The liturgical ministry of the Acolyte is to assist the Priest or Deacon and for the service of the altar. The ministry was introduced into the Parish in 1978. The Acolyte ministry is an important lay ministry within the Liturgy. Training for the Acolyte includes theology and scripture pertaining to this ministry, and a sound knowledge of the pastoral principles of liturgy as provided by the Church’s documents.
